Triumph

From humble beginnings as a bicycle importer, Triumph produced a number of different models of car and motorbicycles, until financial difficulties saw it closed just before WWII.

New owners saw a revival, with several sports cars produced under the Triumph brand, most notable the TR series and Spitfire.

In spite of being purchased by Leyland in 1960 ( or perhaps, because of it ), Triumph’s produced in this period developed a reputation for unreliability. The marque because used less and was finally retired in 1984.

Currently owned by BMW, there is hope that this one brand can rise again.
